Open Letter To Oskar Deutsch : WHAT HAVE YOU ACTUALLY DONE

Sehr geehrter Herr Deutsch,

My son was ill last weekend. Nothing serious thankfully, but I was able to provide the comfort he sought and look after him. This mutual and very natural comfort seeking is so central to the parenting of a young child. I was very aware that Beth has been deprived of offering that comfort and the boys from receiving it for the best part of 10 years.

The tone of your letter made your disapproval of Beth very clear; you find her situation an inconvenience. You clearly don’t like being challenged. But try as you might to make yourself and your community come out of the tragic situation looking better on the world stage, the fact remains that you have collectively participated in the deprivation of two little boys’ of their mother. When they were ill, when they sought reassurance, at their birthday parties and no doubt many more situations over the years.

You responded to my previous letter saying that you would support discussions to permit Beth access to her children. It has now been a couple of weeks. What have you actually done? What are you waiting for? Time is of the essence here. Every day is a day too long to keep them away from their mum.
Please act now.

Regards,
Tamara
